The collection contains illustrative material only for twelve titles published between 1932 and 1976. Illustrative materials include lithograph illustrations, lithograph prints, illustration proofs, studies, a watercolor sketch, a dummy and a poster, and ten lithograph stones for one title, The Terrible Troll Bird. The collection also contains some miscellaneous artwork consisting of two lithograph, one a birth announcement for one of their son Per Ola Parin d'Aulaire in 1939, and a pencil and ink with wash illustration.

D'Aulaire, Edgar Parin, 1898-1986

Edgar Parin D'Aulaire and Ingri (Mortenson) D'Aulaire met in art school, and were married in 1925. Throughout their joint career, which spanned nearly five decades, the D'Aulaires worked as a team on the text and illustrations for numerous children's books. Their published works include: Abraham Lincoln (1939), Foxie (1949), Buffalo Bill (1952), Ingri and Edgar Parin D'Aulaire's Book of Greek Myths (1962), Norse Gods and Giants (1967), and D'Aulaires' Trolls (1972), among many others. ...
